She's 25, and Japanese, and she has a star tattoo on her neck that I love. This is from Vogue China.
You can kind of see her star tattoo there. This is the first photo of hers that I ever saw.
Here's a better look at her tattoo. I think it's really unique. My mother thinks it looks like she needs to see a dermatologist. I informed her that I am going to get the word "Chola" tattooed along the side of my neck. My mother was not amused.
I looked just like this. I was all, "Puh-lease, mother."
It's nice to see a beautiful Japanese girl in the media. I notice that a lot of the time, for example in movies, especially American ones, that the Chinese girls get a lot of Asian roles, even for Japanese parts. That really bothered me in Memoirs of a Geisha. It was set in Japan, so why not try to find talented Japanese girls? The ladies of that film did really well, but it's sad that there aren't many prominent Japanese role models for girls in America. As a Japanese American Italian etc. etc. I have always felt that void. But Tao is a promising role model! She seems very nice and she has been the face of Ralph Lauren, and has other jobs also.
Gaze upon the face of promise! Or something.
