I've been wanting an Industrial Piercing since I was in 10th grade & finally got one today, I already have a barbell in my cartilage on my right ear, so I got it done on my left ear. I know everyone is gonna ask "Did it HURT?" & really it all depends on your pain tolerance, but for me it only hurt for just a few second when she was sticking the needle in & it felt like a dog was biting my ear or something. It was a good experience though b/c the woman who pierced me was really nice & told me I was a "Tough Cookie" LOL & then when it was over she told me "Welcome to the Industrial Piercing Club!"
If you want to get an industrial piercing & where to get one, you need to go to a Tattoo Shop b/c they don't do it in the mall. Most of the time it'll cost about $40 to get one done b/c it's considered 2 piercings, just make sure you go to a good shop. And as for how long it takes to heal: 6-12 months, but I can switch the barbell out after 4-6 weeks.
For After Care you should be given some sort of spray with sea salt in it, I was given a Natural Saline Spray & told to spray it on 2-3 times a day & clean my piercing with a Q-tip. Make sure not to touch it at all while it's healing & keep your hands clean. Also don't sleep on the side where you got the piercing, which sucks for me b/c I roll in my sleep =P
If you want to know more I'm sure you can look it up on YouTube or ask inside a Tattoo Shop, but that'll all I know at the top of my head. I really like Body Jewelry more than regular earring b/c for One: I'm allergic to the metal Nickle, Two: Body jewelry is cheaper, so you can buy a LOT more of it & it's easier to replace, Three: It matches my style better b/c I really love Edgy stuff & Four: They have so many different designs to choose from that are so Unique ^__^
