Animal Loving People Haters

So where I work we have donation boxes at the registers where people can put their spare change. We rotate out the different charities every month, and this past month we had one for an animal shelter and one for building homes for the homeless. Do you know where most of the money was donated to? Animals. They got twice as much money as the houses for homeless boxes did. I just do not understand. At all. I mean, I get it. I love animals.

But when it comes to choosing people over animals, I would choose people. My reasoning? People care a lot less about people than animals. So I feel like I should try to care more about people. I mean, animals are innocent and cute and all, but the less people who have homes, the less animals are taken care of. But I guess I get where people are coming from. A lot of people are awful. Really and truly awful. They lie and cheat and steal and kill and lead dishonest lives and make easily avoidable, self destructible mistakes. Animals are cute and fluffy and helpless and they don't intentionally do anything wrong. People are assholes. The homeless people and the people who won't give to the homeless. Fine. Fine. I guess I'll change my views, because people annoy me way more than animals do. I try to have faith in humanity. I try to work hard to make some part of the world good. But it's hard. And no one really wants to love this:

Humanity, maybe one day I'll fight for you. But right now, my cat is being warm and fluffy on me, and I just don't want to get up. I think I understand those evil customers now.
