Frieke Janssens

Pinterest is just wonderful. I love finding all of these new photographers. Here's one: Frieke Janssens, a female Belgian photographer. She has a collection of photos of children smoking. And they are awesome. All of these kids look like little ballers.

Baller.

She's just owning it. I mean, it's staged, it's not like she finds balling kids who just smoke like it's nothing and photographs them. I think.

He dresses sharp, too.

I like how they have kind of an old school way of dress and way it's photographed. Like back in the day, everyone smoked all the time in a super dignified manner.

Why is she dressed like that? Did she have a career, too?

Another kid seems to have a career too. And he looks mildly terrifying.

He will kill you, then smoke over your body.

Personalized Cork-Board

Cork-boards are flexible art frames. I appreciate how easy it is to pin my favorite post-cards, quotes and accessories onto my board without leaving holes behind in the stucco. You might already have one of these boards in your house (covered in random telephone numbers and old notes) that is just waiting to be transformed. If you want to turn a cork-board into a personalized work of art there are some guidelines to consider.

1. Find a cork-board with a black or white border. Have you noticed how a painting often looks more beautiful in a frame? The same concept works with a bordered cork-board. The board will look more "dressed up" and the items you choose to pin to the board will have more importance.

2. Only pin things onto the board that make you happy. It can be anything you want. A few of my favorite choices are a pair of vintage lace gloves, a big velvet bow, and a vibrant blue and white polka-dotted business card that caught my eye in a boutique located in Carmel-by-the-Sea (I couldn't afford anything else in the store!). I even saved my last leopard-print "thank-you" card to put on the board because I loved the pattern so much.

3. Find some cute pins to compliment the theme you are going for. I have black and white pins to match everything.

4. Never, ever pin work-related telephone numbers, frantic reminders, and old addresses of the one person you meant to write a letter to but never really had time. That's what your planner and address book are for. Your new cork-board is a work of art that is there to inspire you and make you smile.

5. Don't cram too many things onto the board, leave some space so you can appreciate each object.

New Ecotools Brushes & another Mother's Day Gift

If you haven't noticed from my Beauty Products blog, I LOVE Ecotools makeup brushes =D I think after I bought my 1st set of them, that's when I decided to start doing my makeup more seriously or should I say more professionally, LOL. Anyway one of the items on my list for Future Additions to my Makeup Collection was an Angled Brush & the reason I chose an ELF brush in the list was b/c I didn't know Ecotools had an Angled brush. They didn't put this set on their website so the only way I actually found out about it was from THIS blog & I'm SO glad I found out about this set before I bought the ELF one.

I found out that the only store in my area that had the new Everyday Collection by Ecotools was Walmart & it said on their website that there was a limited supply in my area =( So I rushed there today crossing my fingers & they had 2 packs left =D The 1st one someone obviously opened & messed with, so I got the better looking one that just had a scratch on it, there are some childish ppl where I live, smh.

Even though I just needed an Angled Brush, this set came with: Angled brush, Eye Shading brush, Angled Eyeliner brush, Concealer brush, Detailer brush & a Case to carry all the brushes in. I can't WAIT to use the Angled + Eye Shading brushes, I think they're my 2 faves of this set by Ecotools =)

I think someone in the store also messed with these brushes b/c the bristles were a little smooshed on the side of the Angled brush & the Eye Shading brush had 3 bent bristles, but the best thing about this brand of brushes is that they look Brand New after you wash them so I'm gonna do that + trim off the bent bristles. If there were more than just 3 bent then I'd be pissed, but I'm just happy I got my hands on this set =D

NOW for the 2nd Mother's Day gift I got my mom, in my other blog I told ya'll how I ordered her an ELF 100 eyeshadow palette & it was buy 1 get 1 Free for Mother's Day, right. Well it turns out that I just got ONE eyeshadow palette in the mail b/c the ppl at ELF said to get 1 Free I had to act like I was buying 2 makeup palettes in my order for me to actually get the 2nd one for free & I thought that it would do that automatically with the code. But since I didn't do that, I just got 15% off my order with the code =P It's all good though b/c the BH Cosmetics eyeshadow palette my boyfriend ordered me is gonna be 100 times better than that, so in your face ELF >=D

Back to the 2nd Mother's Day gift, YES if you were thinking it I got my mom some Ecotools makeup brushes =) She always just uses the brush that comes with the makeup she buys & as we all should know they're pretty crappy most of the time. So I went ahead & bought her the Bamboo 6 piece brush set b/c it was my 1st set I bought from them & it's great to start out with 1st when you're a beginner.

The only thing I'm worried about is her not WASHING them b/c if you look inside her makeup drawer her cheap brushes that she uses everyday have SO much buildup on them, that you'd think they'd belong to a little kid & that it was just their play brushes that they use on their barbie dolls or something *Yuck* Maybe since these are some good quality brushes she'll take care of them & not waste my money, LOL. They encouraged me to get more serious about makeup, so maybe it'll do the same for her, you never know.

I think my mom is gonna be super happy with my gifts for her this year, lets just hope she doesn't try to steal my BH Cosmetics palette when it gets here too ;P
