Happy 4th of July + Makeup Update

Happy 4th of July everyone!! If you've been on YouTube, then I'm sure you have already seen all the gurus that have done an eyeshadow look just for this specific holiday. I've seen some really cool ones & some very tacky ones, but nonetheless I was inspired by them to create my own eyeshadow look for the 4th of July too. Please remember that I'm not a MUA (makeup artist) or a YouTube beauty guru, just a regular person playing around with makeup =P So without further adieu, here's my 4th of July eyeshadow look that I did for fun.

I didn't go crazy with the look, I kept it simple b/c I'm lazy & sadly not as skilled as the MUA on YouTube. But basically all I did was line my waterline with white eyeliner & put black eyeliner on my tight line so my lashes would look thicker. Then for my eyelids, I put blue on the inner half & red on the outer; nothing special at all just something for fun. BTW there's a harsh line between the 2 colors b/c I didn't bother with blending this time + I wasn't sure if it'd just smudge everywhere or not.

Makeup Update

Since the blog would of been super short if I had just showed my 4th of July MOTD, I thought it'd be a good idea to update you guys on my makeup progress =) Last weekend I bought 2 new makeup brushes from Icing b/c they were having a sell + I needed a blending brush (the other one I have is too small) and I also chose a flat top makeup brush b/c I needed something to buff my couture out & make it blend in better. BTW the brushes are wet in the picture b/c I washed them, I haven't gotten to use them yet.

I've also changed the way I contour my nose b/c most people think they just have to draw dark lines on the sides of their nose & that's it, but I found out that each time I did that and looked at myself in the mirror or in a photo that it didn't look right (for my nose shape) at all. Then I found out from a professional MUA that there are different techniques for contouring your nose & everyone has a different nose shape, so not everyone needs or is supposed to mark lines down the sides of their nose to contour it.

I found out that all I really needed to contour was my nostrils & not my nose at all, LOL. I still put a highlight down the middle of it, but I think everyone should do that. Also other than contouring, I've been trying to learn how to do a cat eye forever & am finally making some progress =) I can finally line my upper lash line, I was having a hard time before b/c I have hooded eyes & found out I'm better at it with a pencil, than with liquid or gel liner like most people use. Also all I need to do now is practise on making my wing & I'll be set *YAY* I was thinking about buying a felt tip liner, but IDK if or when I'll get it b/c I want to make sure I practise more 1st.

Other than those two things, I think I'm good when it comes to everything else. My friends have been posting their makeup looks like crazy on FB, so I want to get back on track & try my best too in improving my skills >=D

OOTD + MOTD: Green Spice

Today I really wasn't planning on doing my makeup, but ended up having time to do it & it turned out good so you'll finally get to see one of my makeup looks. But before I show you the pictures I want to apologise in advance b/c the only good lighting is in my bathroom & the lights in there gave all the pictures a yellow tint, so sorry about that. I really hope I get a DSLR camera for my birthday or something b/c I don't like posting low quality stuff =/ Anyway onto my makeup & outfit of the day, enjoy~

Makeup

Since I was wearing green, I chose to do 2 shades of green on my eyelids from my BH Cosmetics 4th edition palette. The top one on the left I put on the outer half of my lids + on the inner corners of my eyes & to line my lower lash line. The darker shade of green on the bottom left I put on the inner part of my eyelids & then I blended them with a blending brush to get rid of harsh lines. I also used a dark brown eyeliner on my waterline, I don't really like using black b/c it makes my eyes look smaller + it's too dark for my skin tone, so if it smudges I look like I have a black eye.

If you want to know what I did to my face, all I did was use my Garnier BB cream, then set it with my new NYC translucent powder (BTW I put too much on my forehead by accident b/c it spilled when I opened it). Then I Contoured & Highlighted my whole face with my Milani baked bronzers & Blush, I also don't think I'll be contouring my nose anymore b/c I've noticed it makes it look flat in a bad way each time I look in the mirror.

Outfit

The top I wore today was just a cute green plaid shirt with ruffles around the collar & it buttons down.

The bottoms I wore were just some really dark skinny jeans & the shoes were just plain old white flip flops.

The last thing I has on were these big hoop earrings, they had dangling circles on them that were silver & orange.

While I was out today I saw this funny wig at a beauty supply store & had to share it with ya'll, IDK who's gonna actually buy that but it'd be good for Halloween or something.

OOTD: Edgy Tomboy + Mini Haul

I'll start with my outfit of the day 1st, basically I wore black & green today with some edgy accessories to give it some flavor so I wouldn't look plain or like a tomboy that just doesn't care what she wears.

My top was just a plain black T-shirt with some Hawaii stuff on it & says "Aloha Girl" around the pictures.

For my bottoms I wore green cargo capri pants & I just chose them b/c they matched my shirt, love having a bunch of pockets though.

For my choice of shoes, I obviously wore some edgy heels b/c that's the signature thing I always have on with all/most of my outfits.

Accessories

I wore a black leather cuff bracelet that my dad bought for me a few weeks ago & I hope to find some more like it soon b/c I love stuff like this.

For my earrings I wore a barbell on my cartilage, a Play Boy plug in my 2nd hole & a rainbow heart in my 1st hole.

The necklace I wore was a studded fashion cross & the circle thing around it is just a washer bolt that William gave me & he wears one on his necklace too.

This is the belt I wore with my cargo capri pants, the pictures are just stuff you'd see on regular playing cards.

Hair

My hair looked like it had gotten longer so I took a picture of it for ya'll =) Expect to see a 1 year natural video slide show in September, also remember that September 4th is my birthday & I'll be turning 20 finally. The only thing I really want is that DSLR camera I've been saving for: the Nikon D5100, but know I probably won't get it since it costs too much =(

I still am not a picture taking kind of person, but managed to take a picture of my face today for ya'll~

2nd OOTD?!

I took this picture last week I think & if you follow me on Instagram, then you've already seen it but I just wanted to share it with ya'll b/c it was a very simple & cute look.

Mini Haul

I went to Bath & Body Works b/c they were having a 75% off sale & then I bought some stuff that I needed from Target. I'll start with the Bath & Body Works stuff 1st.

I needed some new shower gel, so I bought Paris Amour b/c it smelled really good + the smell actually stays on you for a long time.

The lip glosses were buy 2 get 1 free, so I got: Watermelon Sorbet, Mango Martini, Fruit Punch & bought Magenta Mint b/c it was $3.

Target

I needed a new wallet really bad b/c my Gir wallet didn't haven enough space in it, so I bought this cute vintage one with TONES of room for my many cards that I have.

I've been wanting some translucent powder forever to set my Garnier BB Cream & keep it from sliding off my face in all this summer heat & I finally came in the store when nobody had bought all of it, so I got some NYC smooth skin, loose face powder.

The last thing I bought was a Bubba coffee cup for my dad as a Father's Day gift b/c he drinks a LOT of coffee & always says he needs a bigger cup etc. So I got this, I always like to get people things that I know they're gonna use & not some cheap thing that they'll just throw away or return. 

I also went to a pawn shop today with my mom & wanted to share these cute rabbits I saw in there, too bad I couldn't buy them.

Guest Blogger: Shannelle & her 6 Makeup Looks

Shannelle is one of my really close friends from high school & I call her my "daughter" all the time b/c we have the same last name, LOL. She's also an otaku like me & Mimi and knows a little bit of Koren + French as well. Her personality is really bubbly & she will always have you laughing when you hang out with her. She also likes to take a lot of pictures or at least she takes more than one every couple of months like me, LOL. Shannelle also was in ROTC even though she has Asthma & stays in shape by running and exercising with her friends.

I know her older sister has natural hair & she was/is thinking about transitioning, so you might get to see her again in a Hair blog next time if she goes through with it =) But for now she'll be doing a Beauty blog & sharing some of her makeup looks with you b/c like me she's been getting more into makeup lately & I thought it'd be a great idea to feature her on here after seeing all of her hard work and progress.

Shannelle's Makeup

The rectangular container on the far left is Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio. The other 2 eyeshadows beside it are Cover Girl Exact Eyelights, the top one is the Vibrant Browns & the bottom one is Radiant Blues. The single eyeshadow is also by Cover Girl & it's from the Queen Collection in Emerald. Other Cover Girl products that I use are the Exact Eyelights mascara in Black Pearl, I have two blue eyeliners from C.G. one is Cobalt Blue from Perfect Blend and the other is Radiant Sapphire from the Exact Eyelights collection. I also have two Cover Girl Brow & Eyemakers Pencils and they are both in Midnight Black. I have chap stick that I put on before my lip gloss and then the lip gloss that I use is Liplicious in Cranberry Cocktail. Oh and I didn't take a picture of it, but I have two more mascaras from Rimmel. That's the makeup I use darlings =)

1st Look

For the 1st look I used black and grey eyeshadow from Exact Eyelights and Radiant Sapphire eyeliner from Exact Eyelights. Then applied my mascara =)

2nd Look

In the 2nd look I used Emerald from Queen Collection and a black eyeshadow from Exact Eyelights with Exact Eyelights Black Pearl mascara.

3rd Look

For the 3rd look I first applied blue eyeliner at the bottom left and right corners of my eyes. Next I applied the black eyeshadow, covering my entire eyelid. Then I closed one eye and applied the blue eyeshadow starting from the inner corner of my eye to the half point of my eyelid and finally I applied mascara =)

4th Look

In the 4th look first I applied my blue eyeliner at the bottom left and right corners of my eye. Next I put on the orange eyeshadow, covering my entire eyelid. Then I closed one eye and applied the green from inner corner of the eye to the half point of my eyelid and finally I applied mascara =)

5th Look

In the 5th look first I applied blue eyeliner at the bottom left and right corners of my eye. Next I applied the green eyeshadow, covering my entire eyelid. Then I closed one eye and applied the blue eyeshadow starting from the inner corner of my eye to the half point of my eyelid and finally I applied mascara. All products I used are from Cover Girl. Eyeliner: Cobalt Blue Mascara: Black Pearl.

6th Look

For the 6th & final look I applied green eyeshadow (which i used as an eyeliner) to the bottom left and right corners of my eyes. Next I applied brown eyeshadow, covering my entire eyelid. Then I closed one eye and applied the green eyeshadow starting from the inner corner of my eye to the half point of my eyelid and finally I applied Cover Girls Black Pearl mascara =) I'd like to say that this is the look of mother nature because I used green and brown LOL.

Questions

What is your style of makeup & how do you like to do it?

My style of makeup is the..flashy, but not so flashy type I would say. I like to make this look with fun colors that I think are great for my skin tone.

Where do you get your makeup inspirations from?

I got my inspiration from a group called Black Gyaru of The World that was introduced to me by my friend Momo. I got into it because I wanted to make my eyes look bigger and then I started playing with my makeup and decided to post my looks.

Why is Cover Girl your favorite makeup brand?

I wouldn't say it's my favorite because I just went to to the store and picked up some products. I didn't know what I was doing, but I like Cover Girl a lot because the shadows go on so smoothly and the eyeliner is spectacular, also the mascara is just amazing!

And is there anything else you'd like to say?

I had a lot of fun doing this =)

I need Glasses?

Yep, I went to the eye doctor last week b/c my vision has been a little blurry lately & they said I'm Near Sited =P It's no big deal b/c my prescription is very light & I only have to wear the glasses for important stuff like: Driving, Reading, being on the Computer etc. They're not gonna "fix" my eyes or anything if I keep wearing them all the time, but since I wear my Geek/Nerd glasses all the time as an accessory I'm already used to them after getting them today.

The best part about getting these glasses though, is that they're Vogue ^__^ I'm sure by now after seeing my Swimsuit & Sun Hat blogs that ya'll can tell I have a High Fashion sense of taste, LOL. I guess that's what happens when you've watched ANTM all your life & still want to be a Model even though they're no agencies around where you live. But I also have noticed that these glasses make me look older & that's a good thing b/c I have a Baby Face + since I haven't been wearing makeup this summer, they're good to wear as a replacement for my eyeshadow.

I love the case for some reason, probably b/c it's not ugly & isn't one of those magnetic snapping ones.

They look much better in person, but trust me they're NICE~

The sides of them is what gives them Flavor ;D

Last picture is me wearing them, sorry it's not my whole face but my camera is crappy. Really cant wait till I can get the one I want, check out the blog here if you don't know what I'm talking about.
