Swim Lessons Week 2

The second week of swim lessons went even better than the first. Maddie remembered everything she learned the first time and then did some new things too. Maddie is part fish because she does NOT want to get out of the water at the end. She even got to stay in while Ty had his lessons, but that still wasn't long enough!

This week Ty went right to Miss Ashley and worked hard for her. She made him try lots of things and he did his best.

Where's Ty and Miss Ashley?
There they are!!

Ma's Week

Ma came last week to babysit Ty and Maddie. Lynda was in San Antonio watching Alyssa play basketball.
Ty and Maddie love when Ma visits. She takes them to breakfast every morning!
Then they always do cool projects!
This time Ma made them each a pillow...Ty got Spiderman and Maddie got princesses!

Haylie

Haylie was on spring break from OU and stopped by for a visit. She missed Maddie and Ty and needed to see them!

I heard the visit went great according to Ma. Chris and I were at school when she came.
We miss you too Haylie!!

Thinking too much, how original.

So today I was thinking about how to make my life more interesting. Perhaps, it could be that I think too much about it.

In my Philosophy of Art class, we spoke about distance. Kant believes that lack of distance is really inattention. Let me explain further. If someone is watching Othello, and they start worrying that their wife is cheating on them, that is lack of distance. You can’t appreciate the art for art. You are applying your emotional life and personal experience to the art work, and you are ignoring the actual art piece. Perhaps, just maybe, I’m busy thinking about personal, past experiences and my own thoughts, instead of appreciating the “art”. Ew. Art as a metaphor for life is a little too-true-but-sickly-sweet for me. I apologize.

But still. Maybe I should just go out and do things, and not think about anything. I worry about being irresponsible, however. For a while, I feel like I was not in tune with myself. All through junior high and high school, in fact. That hurt me deeply. I am a much stronger person now, but I worry that not, “checking myself before wrecking myself” will hurt me again.

By doing so, I worry that I missed out on achieving more of my potential at an earlier age. Worry, worry, worry, worry, worry. I feel like we’d be drunk already if the word ‘worry’ was put with a drinking game. Are blogs and their bloggers supposed to be this self-centered? I feel like I should be talking about Kony or something. Ah, well.

Here’s one of my favorite songs. It’s “my jam” if you will. And it’s the unedited version. I will say, I felt like my whole childhood was a lie when I realized the edited version was not the real version.

Please enjoy.

Stretching My Ears

OK, to start off I wear Body Jewelery already most of the time bc I am allergic to the metal Nickle & can't wear normal jewelry anyway. Right now the only things I have pierced are 2 normal holes in my ears & one in my Cartilage. What I want pierced is: an Industrial piercing in my Left ear, my belly button pierced & a 3rd hole for my ears.

I want to gauge my 1st holes in my ears bc I've worn the fake Plugs they sell at Hot Topic to see if I'd like them & it turns out that I LOVE them & want them for REAL now, LOL. I'm not planning on going to a crazy size like 1 or 00 etc. I want a simple size gauge that's not too big, so I'm thinking a size 10g or 8g will be OK w/ me =D

IDK when I'll start gauging my ears bc like I've said before I don't have a lot of money + need to save for that DSLR, but will keep everyone posted whenever I start & buy what I need ^__^

Introduction

Oh, lord. About me...I feel like I should introduce myself, or something. Of course, the chances of any of you actually meeting me in person are very slim. In fact, the chances of anyone actually caring about this blog are very slim too.

I have always wondered, if I died tragically, what would show on the news? I mean, when someone is tragically killed and their story is covered on Nightline or something, they always show these nice photos and home videos. I don't really have either of those.

I like to think that I will effect the world in some major, important way, but so far I haven't. As my "About Me" stated, I'm trying to, as my mother puts it, "Bloom where I'm planted". It's hard. And boring. I don't think I'm very excited about my life at all.

So! I strive to make it more exciting! I strive to create a blog that people will actually read and enjoy! I strive to not be crushed by crippling ennui! It's nice to meet you.

And here's a picture I found on Pinterest. It reflects my views.

Thank you.
