Saturday night was finally Maddie's cheerleading debut! Maddie had quite a crowd there to support her....Ma, Pa, Mimi, Papa, Aunt Kim, Emma and Maya. During the reserve half time, Maddie had to work out the nerves. She didn't do anything more than clap, make a two for her Shout, Shout, Shout for 2 cheer, and watch the Scottie Dog.
Sometimes she was a little late on the correct move!
At the varsity half time, Maddie got into it. She did some of the dance and all the cheers (at her own pace, of course!).
Thank Goodness for Brooke! She is Maddie's favorite cheerleader (those are Maddie's exact words) and took Maddie under her wing.
"Go, go, go Scotties, go, beat Philo!" This is Maddie's favorite cheer because you jump and clap over your head. Notice she is even doing it at the same time as Brooke!
"Scotties are number 1!"
I thought this was funny, because Brooke actually had to pick Maddie up and carry out of the gym! Maddie wanted to stay and cheer some more!This was a great experience for Maddie. She is constantly cheering....on the potty, while playing, in the car, etc. She knows quite a few cheers and then even makes up her own. She has even taught Ty some of her new moves. His favorite is broken T. I am not ignoring Ty in this post, but he did not get to go the the event. He was running a high fever and had to stay home for 24 hours. Luckily, Pam, a good family friend, volunteered to watch him so I could go. Thanks Pam! However, if Ty went, I wasn't sure how I was going to keep him from cheering. When we talked about Maddie cheering at the game, he kept saying, "Me too!" Now that might just give Chris a heart attack for sure!!
