Ma's Project

Ma always has a project for her grandchildren.  For this project, Logan, Carson, Maddie, and Ty planted pumpkin seeds.

We used Pa's truck bed as our table.

On a side note, Carson invited Maddie to spend Saturday night at his house.  Always, in the past, they have spent the night at Ma's.  I told Aunt Tracey good luck since Maddie has not spent an entire night in her own bed since last summer.  Guess what?  Maddie stayed in Carson's bed all night!!

Not for a weak stomach

In case your wondering....background information....Ty has been sick since Tuesday.  It started with diarrhea and then vomiting was added to the mix.  Chris took him to the doctor and Dr. Minnis thought he had Rotovirus.  However, his test did come back negative on Thursday.

Thursday at 4 pm, Chris had to start chugging a bucket of some sort of concoction for his colonoscopy on Friday.  Therefore, he spent the evening in the bathroom.

Maddie took a shower and had not put on her pj's yet, when she was hit with diarrhea.  Needless to say she didn't make it to the bathroom. I scooped her up and took her to the kitchen to clean her up.  While scrubbing her, Ty begin coughing...which I know is going to turn into vomit.  I leave stinky Maddie in the kitchen and run to try to make sure Ty is vomiting in the bucket.

Do you need any more details!

Flip-flop Philosophy

Warmer weather is here! If you can afford it, I propose purchasing a pair of leather flip-flops or sandals if you don't already own a pair. You can find a nice pair for about $20 to $40 at Marshalls. My favorite shoe brand the store carries is Born. The shoes are good quality and cute (check out styles here: http://www.bornshoes.com), and the shoe I am wearing below is extremely comfortable. You might be surprised at this piece of advice when you consider the money-saving purpose of this blog. "Ha!" you sneer gleefully, "I could buy eight pairs of rubber flip-flops with that money, in different colors!"
You could, but one good-quality pair of shoes is more practical in the long run if your feet have stopped growing.

If your goal is style, cheap rubber flip-flops are to be worn only at the beach and in the community showers at the YMCA. Andy Paige, author of Style on a Shoestring, put it this way: "One of the fastest ways to change your look is to change your shoes." Rubber flip-flops usually make your outfits look too casual, and even if you manage to pull off this look you will always look better in a leather pair. Also, flip-flops made of cheap materials do not have adequate arch support.

I bought my leather flip-flops six years ago. I wear them often and they still look cute. The same probably can't be said for a pair of old, cheap flip-flops. Leather ages well and can add an effortless style to your summer outfit. You will save money (and your style) each year because you won't need to buy a new pair for a very long time.

Tumblr Pictures

People keep pressuring me to get a Tumblr. I think one day I might, but all of this technology can be a bit to keep up with. I will resist for now, damn it! I will instead inflict the pictures I find on Tumblr on you fine people. They are just too beautiful not to share.

Anya Ayoung Chee, who was the winner of the last season of Project Runway, has an excellent Tumblr, and I got some of the pictures from her account: http://anyaderogue.tumblr.com/archive
